Lose 10 Pounds by Exercising in the Morning
Most people find they have gained weight slowly over a long period, gaining one or two pounds here and there without realising it. Before you know it you can find yourself overweight. This is why many people are looking to lose just 5 to 10 pounds, pounds which have crept on over the years.
To lose 10 pounds is a fairly realistic goal for most people. Even though this weight has probably crept on over a number of years, it is possible to lose it in a relatively short period of time. Most people lead very busy lives and find that if they don't make time in their schedules specifically for exercise, then they end up exercising very little. Unfortunately most people don't schedule this time and therefore do not get regular exercise. This means setting aside even a little time each day for exercise can lead to noticeable results.
To lose weight by exercising, you must exercise on a regular basis. Thirty to 45 minutes of walking, jogging or riding a bike 5 days a week is a great way to start. If you think you can't find the time for that then try to get up earlier each day. All you need to do is get up 30-45 minutes earlier each day and spend this time exercising. This is a relatively easy way to lose a few pounds as it can easily be built into your daily routine.
A benefit of exercising in the morning is that research has shown that exercising on an empty stomach can result in burning more calories from fat, rather than burning calories from food you have recently eaten. Exercising in the morning, before you eat breakfast, can therefore help you achieve your goal of losing weight.
Generally, your body burns both fat and carbohydrates when exercising but the body's main energy source is carbohydrates. When you exercise, your body burns carbohydrate first (more or less) and then it starts to burn your fat reserves. If you exercise during the day, you'll have more carbohydrates to burn from your meals. To lose pounds, you'll want to burn fat and if you exercise in the morning then you are exercising at a time when your carbohydrate levels are at there lowest. This means you can lose more fat by doing the same amount of exercise. In fact, some studies have shown that you can burn 200% more fat my exercising in the morning on an empty stomach.
Of course there is no quick and easy weight loss solution, but by exercising in the morning as well as reducing your calorie intake, you'll be well on your way to achieving your goals. By changing your routine and getting up a little bit earlier each day and by exercising first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, you'll be able to win your battle to lose 10 pounds.
