Are you looking to lose weight? Most of us are at some time or another. Losing a few pounds is a great way to look better and feel healthier. Weight loss of as little as 10 pounds can help boost your self confidence, especially when people start to comment on how good you look. If you want to lose weight and you want a realistic goal, set a target of losing between 5 and 10 pounds. This is attainable for most people and is a good start if you are overweight and need to lose more than that.

Most people think the only way to lose weight is to go on a bland, monotonous diet and a strict and strenuous exercise regime. Although this could work in the short term, most people are unable to maintain this in the long term and would probably end up regaining all the weight they had lost in the first place. If you want to lose five pounds easily and while having fun, try riding a bike.

There are many benefits to riding a bike, the two main ones being that it is a relatively cheap form of transportation and that it's an easy way to get exercise without placing too much strain on your body. Most people struggle to lose weight by exercising because they lead busy lives and feel they don't have time to go to the gym 5 times a week or to go out for a long walk each evening. Everyone always starts off with good intentions of exercising more but over time other things come up and exercise gets forgotten about.

Instead of finding the time each day to go to the gym for a rigorous workout, why not ride your bike to work instead? If you don't live too far from work and normally go during peak our traffic, you might find that it takes more or less the same time to get to work. So you won't have to 'make time' for exercise and you won't feel like your exercising, you're just going to work. Not only will you be exercising but you'll be saving money and helping the environment as well.

You should be able to lose a few pounds fairly quickly and easily just by riding your bike to and from work everyday. If you live too far from work to ride your bike then try using your bike for short trips such as buying the paper or going to the post office. All these short trips will add up plus if you include one long bike ride on the weekend then you will be able to lose 10 pounds before you know it.
