Establishing good sleeping habits for your baby is often a priority for new parents. Your baby needs to sleep on her own but this can be difficult and it can take time. Not only do you want your child to be sleeping well for her own health but for your health also. If you have to get up constantly throughout the night to tend to your baby then you will most likely wake up exhausted. This can make things difficult for you the following day, especially if you have to go to work, as you will have trouble concentrating and will probably be irritable. This is surely not how you want to spend you days. If you have a new baby you will want to enjoy every minute of it and that can be difficult if you can barely keep your eyes open.

Your child can find this to be very relaxing and she should calm down fairly quickly. You can even go about your regular activities while your baby is in the sling. The point is to keep your baby close to you in a controlled manner. Once she has calmed down you shouldn't have any problems putting her to sleep.
A more unusual baby sleep tip if she won't go to sleep is to take her for a drive. Babies often tend to drift off to sleep quickly once in a car so while this method may be a little inconvenient it is worth a try if you have exhausted all other options. Obviously this is only a short term option and should only be used if you are really desperate but it is helpful to know that it works with some babies.
There are many tips to help your baby to get to sleep and it's just a matter of trying different things. Generally sticking to a routine is all that is needed but sometimes more unconventional methods are called for. Trusting your instincts and using common sense are extremely important in raising a child and this is especially the case when trying to get your baby to sleep through the night.
